 The business began back in December 1998 and was running as Golden Bay Salmon Fishing Ltd. In August 2000 the business was granted the relevant licences and consents for the farm to be completed and the very first salmon stock was introduced.
The company began trading as Anatoki Salmon Farm in July 2001 and was purchased in May 2005 by Jan and Gerda Dissel. Together they are nurturing the business and establishing it as a tourist hot spot.

Guided Farm Tours
We provide informative and educational farm tours for organised groups. Please contact us to pre-book. You are welcome to feed the salmon as you wander the farm at your leisure.
Entry to our Salmon Farm is FREE
All of the activities below are free to experience by the public while the farm is open.
- Educational for All: see the Salmon at different ages and stages of growth, watch salmon being processed or smoked.
- Short Walks: along the bush shaded track beside the intake canal and see trout in their natural habitat.
- Picnic Sites: come and enjoy a picnic, be it by yourself or with the family, at one of our picnic sites around the lake or in our cosy yurt.
- Swimming Hole: bring your swimming gear and swim in the Anatoki's pristine clear waters.
