While your freshly caught salmon is gently smoked or grilled to perfection, take the time to relax at the picnic tables and soak up the atmosphere. Our 'Lake Anatoki' is bordered by beautiful native bush adjoining the Anatoki River and the Kahurangi National Park, providing a tranquil environment for fishing and picnicking.

Where else can you bring your own picnic gear and have such a wonderful time? Whether you spend an hour or the entire day at Anatoki Salmon, family and friends will enjoy a fishing experience like no other.

We are also able to vacuum pack your catch of the day and put it on ice so you may take it home. The memories of a fabulous day fishing will come back when you take the first bite!

There is no charge for entering the salmon farm or for using our fishing gear. You only pay for what you catch.

Yummy On The Spot

Have your catch hot smoked or grilled in just 10 minutes and accompany your dish with salad or garlic bread, drinks or coffee. On request we will prepare your salmon as sashime or serve you from the fully-licenced cafe menu offering salmon chowder, sushi and other delicious salmon meals.

We have high quality wines from Petros, Staetelandt and Te Mania to compliment your nicely smoked fish. While others are fishing, have a treat of salmon croquettes or classic smoked salmon.

man catches fishAnatoki Salmon aims to be environmentally sustainable in managing its resources. We do this through such initiatives as:

  • Preserving water quality downstream of our fish farm property (maintaining these levels well within our resource consent limits)
  • Ensuring our land and fish welfare practices are more natural management solutions, with minimal chemical treatments
  • Reducing our use of non-reusable products and targeting a challenging minimum level of waste taken to landfill
  • Supporting many community acts of charity in order to be socially responsible

As our guest you can help us by:

  • Using only the fishing gear provided by Anatoki Salmon to avoid a further spread of dydimo
  • Use the rubbish bins and down at the farm we separate for recycling.
  • Give us your ideas for other actions we can take to be more sustainable in our tourism business.
