The business began back in December 1998 and was running as Golden Bay Salmon Fishing Ltd.
In August 2000 the business was granted the relevant licences and consents for the farm to be completed and the very first salmon stock was introduced
The company began trading as Anatoki Salmon Farm in July 2001 and was purchased in May 2005 by Jan and Gerda Dissel. Together they are nurturing the business and establishing it as the tourist hot spot in Golden Bay, Nelson region!

Anatoki Salmon Responsible Tourism Policy
Anatoki Salmon aims to be environmentally sustainable in managing its resources. We do this through such initiatives as:
Preserving water quality downstream of our fish farm property (maintaining these levels well within our resource consent limits). Ensuring our land and fish welfare practices are more natural management solutions, with minimal chemical treatments. Reducing our use of non-reusable products and targeting a challenging minimum level of waste taken to landfill. Supporting many community acts of charity in order to be socially responsible
As our guest you can help us by:
Using only the fishing gear provided by Anatoki Salmon to avoid a further spread of dydimo | Use the rubbish bins and down at the farm we separate for recycling | Give us your ideas for other actions we can take to be more sustainable in our tourism business.
