Feed the Eels

A unique experience

Experience the relationship between free wild creatures and humans, as you hand-feed them,  just as Maggi McCallum first did over 100 years ago.

The Eels are hibernating during the Winter months but are very hungry from October till May. Watch and feed the historic Eels in the little streams near the Salmon farm cafe. The food for the Eels is available for purchase at the salmon farm cafe for only $2.00.

"Some of these eels are believed to be over 90 years old. It was quite amazing to be hand feeding these eels, with the history of the fish being told in a small museum close to the river."
